Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. and her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix showed a flair for sports early in her life, and discovered her ability to sprint when she was a student at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first tryout she came third in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary school. The first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the 200-meter event. She won the title for the second time in 2007 by beating her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently within the top three in her various events at the Olympics held in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
