Alison Doody
Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish actress and model. Her debut film part as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 1989's Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character from A View to a Kill (Bond film, 1985) and then went on to perform the role of Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte in Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody began her modeling career after she was approached by an aspiring photographer. She has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody did not like glamour or nude work. This was a principle she carried over to her acting. After being spotted by of the director who cast the upcoming James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody is listed in John Willis Screen World's Vol. 3. She is listed as one of the 12 top actors in 1986. 38. Doody was only 18 years old at the time of her appearance in the Bond part. Today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA members Siobhan Doovan. Doody played an unseen role as the wife of Archibald Craven Lilias when she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version of The Secret Garden. Doody was Sapsorrow in the Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress played Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her most memorable role to date as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody has collaborated with three James Bond actors. In the year 1991, Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. In Hollywood her next move was to. She starred as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After almost a decade away from screen Doody returned to acting with a small role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. The roles she played include the TV film version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust as well as the short film Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Doody appeared on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014 she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way.
